ABOUT
Sally Burgess is one of the most accomplished country artists to leave New Zealand.
Born in Tasmania, Sally spent most of her life in New Zealand. In 1994, Sally moved to Nashville, TN before returning to live in Tauranga, New Zealand in 2019.
Having entertained in Tamworth, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide (Australia), many places within New Zealand, on the Grand Ole Opry, Midnight Jamboree and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, she firmly believes that dreams really do come true. Life is very busy. But then, that is how she likes it.
While in New Zealand, she became both N.Z.C.M.A COUNTRY MUSIC ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR and SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR. One person winning both titles has never been done before or since - Sally won them both in the same year. She won almost every major Country Music award New Zealand had to offer. It was then that she decided to move to Nashville, TN in the United States to widen her horizons.
Sally has succeeded in a number of competitions since moving to Nashville, including becoming a finalist in the "Silver Star Awards" twice. She has recorded a total 8 CDs, the latest being released in 2012. Titled “Reach for the Rhythm”, it was recorded in Nashville with the ‘Hot Club of Nashville’.
